ConformityMonitor
New rules for the online activities of the Swiss public broadcaster (SRG) have come into force in June 2013. These require that texts in the sections news, sports, and regional/local be limited to 1’000 characters, if they do not relate to specific broadcasts. In addition, texts with relation to broadcasts must contain the information on the broadcasts they refer to.
The ConformityMonitor is commissioned by the Swiss Office of Communication (BAKOM) and carried out by the Media Change & Innovation Division.
It analyzes quarterly whether the online offer of SRF (Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen), RTS (Radio Télévision Suisse), RSI (Radiotelevisione svizzera) and RTR (Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha) comply with these rules.
